The pilgrimage has been associated since ancient times with traveling to sacred places, the pilgrim seeks a new or expanded meaning of himself and his life, through travel and experiences, the pilgrimage adds to the human and changes him from the inside.
The pilgrimage is not just a spatial journey, it is a personal journey that starts from the inside out. It starts from the human’s awareness of himself, and his refinement of it, he frees himself from everything that hinders and hurts him, which requires a lot of contemplation and reflection and self-monitoring and control, so the soul lightens from what weighs it down from thought or feeling or behavior. It reflects on the human’s interaction with himself and the world around him, he enjoys peace and radiates outward, where his second journey begins, the journey of the body in this existence.
The pilgrimage is not a tourist trip, for relaxation or pleasure, the pilgrimage is a journey of searching for meaning, values, and truth, an experience to understand life, a journey that starts from within and takes the human on a journey to what is far away, to find what is close.
A blessed pilgrimage … and happy new year to you
